    The Fairview Chamber of Commerce is delighted to present a new, limited edition Christmas ornament designed by Fairview native Jeremy D. Krieger who is also a chamber member. The inaugural ornament from the Jeremy Dean Collection features the Lighting of the Bridge, an annual event organized by the Fairview Chamber. “With it being a Chamber event and me having ties to the fireworks and the first show, it was just fitting to be the first one,” Krieger explained.     It’s amazing what can happen when two talented photographers collaborate. The new Fairview Chamber of Commerce logo was inspired by photos taken by Jeremy Krieger and Judd Burman, and features important landmarks such as the Fairview Bridge, the old water tower, the U.S. flag owned by Vietnam veteran Terry C. Miller, and the grain elevators. “It took a few different designs, but when this one came together, we knew it was the one,” Krieger said of the creative process.     The Richland County Food Bank is quickly settling in to its new home at 517 E. Main, Sidney. In just one and a half days on Sept. 19 & 20, food bank staff, with massive help from the City of Sidney, LDS elders, Boy Scout Troop 141, and employees of EOG transferred freezers, shelving and food items.     The 2022 sugar beet harvest wrapped up last week with both tonnage and sugar content coming in lower than expected. According to Sidney Sugars agricultural manager Duane Peters, the yield was unusually field specific with highs and lows in individual fields rather than in an overall area. ”It seems to have a lot to do with weather, but there’s not really any rhyme or reason on the sugar,” he said.     With almost perfect weather in the forecast, Sidney Sugars Incorporated is looking forward to a great start to the annual beet harvest. Culbertson, Sugar Valley and the factory yard will started accepting beets on Sept. 30 while Savage and Pleasant Valley began on Oct. 1. Slicing at the factory started Oct. 1. According to Sidney Sugars agricultural manager Duane Peters, root samples taken in the 18,300 acres of area beets showed a good crop with tonnage averaging 29 and sugar at 15.2.
