    The annual MonDak Ag Days are coming up next month, January 10-12 at the Richland County Fair Event Center.     “The People’s Celebration” for the 150th Birthday of the USDA was held the evening of Thursday, Nov. 8th. The celebration included informational booths, speakers, a dinner, and an award presentation.     The Richland County MSU Extension office announced that they have hired a new Family and Consumer Sciences agent. Ludmila Keller, graduate of Binghamton University, had been hoping to get an extension job. When asked why an extension job she replied, “It’s such a great opportunity to work with a community and to interact with the residents.” So when she saw an opening here in Sidney, she immediately got more information.     After working for the County for 10 years with 6 years as Tourism Director, Jan Dodge has decided to redirect her focus elsewhere. When she spoke about her experience there she replied, “I thoroughly enjoyed my position as tourism director.     Sidney High School wrestling coach, Guy Melby, recently was a guest speaker at the University of Minnesota for a coaches clinic held October 26th at the Bierman Field Athletic Building in Minneapolis. The clinic offered professional instruction on the fundamentals and techniques of coaching wrestling. It was open to all interested participants and fans of the sport.     Eight years ago, the Sportsmen Against Hunger program was started in North Dakota by the North Dakota Community Action Partnership (NDCAP) after assessing the state’s needs. What they found was that a number of people, statewide, weren’t getting enough food. After observing this, they started a venison donation program in order to help those low-income participants that didn’t have enough food to feed themselves and their families. In order for teams to get to the finals, they must place well in one of the NILE sanctioned Ranch Rodeos from across the region. The team of Sperry and Reid qualified for the Finals at the local Neal Hermanson Memorial Ranch Rodeo in Sidney.
