    Construction for the Bakken Area Skills Center kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony July 18. This is a big step for the center as it has been in the works since 2016. Construction is anticipated to be finished by late 2023. The center will be located near Watford City High School, across from the Rough Rider Center’s baseball field. The hotel upgraded its internet services and renovated public spaces, making them more functional for their guests.     The year 2022 marked 10 years of successful business for Watford City’s Outsiders Bar & Grill. In 2012, Watford City natives, Cary and Darlene Garmann opened the restaurant in hopes of it serving as a welcoming place for everyone to enjoy a meal.     On Saturday, July 16, community members gathered to see and use the Watford City Municipal Airport’s new extended runway. The event celebrated the two-year project with a ribbon cutting, free airplane rides, BBQ, and aircrafts. The new extended runway measures 6,550-feet long by 75-feet wide and allows the airport the ability to welcome bigger airplanes to the area.
